I've a fully supportive manager who allows me the freedom to learn and make mistakes in a safe environment without fear, meaning that I can improve my skills more quickly and offer a better service to both internal and external customers.”

“I literally love working for Wave. The people, the values and the feeling of belonging is out of this world. I feel appreciated and valued, not only within the team, but across all levels. Working at Wave makes me smile.”

What does the recruitment process look like?
We believe recruitment should be an enjoyable experience and we want you to know what to expect at each stage along the way. All of our roles have job-related objective criteria to make sure that every candidate is assessed fairly and consistently.
If you’re applying for one of our roles, you can submit your application through the link in the advert. Please make sure you include a covering letter with your CV as we don’t accept applications without one. Plus they’re a great opportunity to really demonstrate to us how you’d meet the criteria we’ve set out.
Wave is an inclusive employer and will take into consideration any adjustments needed to support you. If you require any additional support related to menopause, neurodiversity, or any other reason, please do let us know by contacting hr@wave-utilities.co.uk.
Once the job has closed, we’ll review all the applications we’ve received and decide who to interview. We’ll keep all applicants updated and let you know if you’re progressing to the next step or not.
Brilliant, you’ve got an interview! This’ll either be face to face or over Teams, at a time that works for you and for us. Usually you’ll be interviewed by at least two people, the hiring manager and either another manager or one of the HR team who’ll take notes based on your answers.
Make sure you’ve got lots of great examples that are relevant and recent. We always recommend you use the STAR technique to make sure you provide plenty of detail. Start with the Situation, then the Task, the Action you took and, of course, the Result.
After all the interviews have taken place, we’ll review your performance and make an offer to the successful candidate. We’ll also let you know if you weren’t successful and we can provide you with some feedback if you’d like it.
Starting a new role is an exciting time but there’s always lots to sort out. Our HR team will keep you informed every step of the way. Once your contract is signed, we’ll do our checks and follow up with your references. We’ll agree a start date together and make sure you have all the equipment you need before your first day.
