At Wave, we live and work by four core values which are integral to how we operate as a business. We’re committed to setting our people up for success by encouraging them to embrace learning and put the customer first. To support them throughout their journey, our Learning and Development (L&D) team handpick our training providers to make sure they’re not only delivering great courses, but they also support and share our values and demonstrate a strong customer ethos and a passion for growth and development. 

Our L&D team have curated a selection of courses and training sessions designed to support our people through every step of their career, from getting them onboard to personal development and leadership. The Wave leadership team fully embrace learning and actively support the L&D team to deliver, embed and measure learning that’s right for our people.

Getting started

Our core platform is Absorb where we host a range of training to support the learning of our staff and ensure that they’re skilled and able to support their customers, both internally and externally. On Absorb, there’s everything from mandatory and introductory courses to additional resources and podcasts, it’s a one-stop-shop for our people use to and learn about their role, the business and take charge of their own development.

Growth and development

To support our customer facing teams, our Magical Customer Journey programme was created so our people can truly understand what our customers expect and how they can provide a consistent customer experience every step of the way. It’s tailored to specific teams and helps make sure everyone puts the customer at the heart of everything we do, and that learning solutions are flexible, current, and future proof.

We believe learning should be available for everyone, all year round, which is why we offer a range of courses that not only support specific teams and business-related development but also personal learning and interests. Go1, our content partner, have an amazing and extensive collection of training on a variety of topics from marketing to credit control, and lots of great courses on self-development including public speaking, mindfulness and many more. Go1 also provides us with nano and micro learning as well as podcasts and webinars, so for anyone looking to grow their knowledge or develop a skill, there’s no shortage of tools to help.

Becoming a great leader

At Wave, we believe in supporting our people throughout their career, and making sure we offer the right support to help them take the next step. Our courses are designed to provide the knowledge and skills they need to become great leaders. To do so, we’ve worked with New Results to provide courses on topics such as personal impact, understanding yourself, and developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships. 

Creating a feedback culture

We believe feedback shouldn’t be something you avoid, but something you ask for. Without it, our individual ability to learn and improve is limited but with it comes advice and tips on how to become even better, in role and as a business. Wave have worked with JS Achieve to develop “the F word”, a bespoke programme that’s being rolled out across the whole business to help everyone give and receive feedback in the right way.
